Rhythm Traders is proud to present Todd Sucherman (Styx) in clinic. Best known for his work with Styx, Todd has played with Brian Wilson, Tommy Shaw, Peter Cetera, Brian Culbertson, The Falling Wallendas, Steve Cole, and Spinal Tap, among others.
In September 2008, Sucherman was a featured artist in the prestigious Modern Drummer Festival. He also appeared on the cover of the October 2008 issue of Modern Drummer magazine. In 2009 the Modern Drummer Magazine voted him number one Rock Drummer in the World.

Monday September 23rd, 6pm at Rhythm Traders
Rhythm Traders is pleased to offer a special djembe class with Sayon Camara of Guinea, West Africa. Sayon was born in the village of Kouya Sidia in Kouroussa in central Guinea. After drumming in the village for 31 years, Sayon left his village as a master djembefola to work in Conakry with the world’s foremost djembe player, Famoudou Konate.
When Famoudou heard him play he was amazed by the clarity of the sound Sayon produced on the djembe. For the next eight years, Sayon worked intensively with Famoudou Konate and his performing group Hamana Foli Kan, teaching at his workshops, and playing at concerts and on his CDs.
This special class is open to all players with at least one year of djembe playing experience. Students should be able to play bass-tone-slap clearly.

Shannon Larkin has been a member of the multi platinum selling band Godsmack since 1997. He has performed and recorded with such artists as Wrathchild America, Snot, Ugly Kid Joe, Amen, Candlebox, Another Animal, Souls at Zero, Vanilla Ice, Stone Sour and Black Sabbath.
A Yamaha Artist since 2002, Shannon Larkin’s drumming is distinguished by a liquid groove, absolutely fluid in the manner of great session drummers such as the late Jeff Porcaro, and his studio work displays the rare capacity to balance simplicity and ornamentation. Although heavy metal is known for heavy hitting and heavy double-pedal footwork, Shannon exhibits a nimble touch with sticks and a rabbit’s right foot on single pedal.
